Help Searching

Teacher search allows you to find teachers either in your area or that you know. There is a search bar on the right hand side of each page on the IYA (UK) website that allow you to do this.

Steps to searching

  1. 1. select the country you would like to search. You can select a individual country or select 'All Countries'. By default United Kingdom is selected.
  2. 2. If you know the surname or part of, of the teacher you are looking for enter it in the surname box.
  3. 3. If you would like to search by postcode and distance. Just enter the postcode you would like to use and select the maximum distance you would like to search by.
  4. 4. Tick the check boxes 'Remedial' and/or 'Teacher Training', depending on the type of teacher you are looking for.
  5. 5. Click the 'Submit' Button to begin your search.

How to read the search results

Our aim to help you find the teacher you want in the easiest possible way, and the search results should therefore be clear and easy to understand.

  1. 1. The teachers name. To put it simply, this is the teachers name and is the first line of each search result.
  2. 2. profile photo. If the teacher has uploaded a profile photo of themselves.
  3. 3. Teachers telephone number. If the teacher has allowed this to be shown, you can contact that teacher quickly.
  4. 4. Distance. If you enter a postcode for your teacher search, the distance in miles will show from your selected postcode to that teacher. Either by where they live, or by their nearest class.
  5. 5. profile view. Click this to view the teacher profile, events and other information.

Search tips

  • Be specific. The more specific you are with your search criteria, the more likely you are to find the teacher you are looking for. So enter search criteria in all the fields available with give you less result, but far more relevant results.
  • If you don't know the full surname. Try just entering the first part of the surname, or even just the first letter. This will search for teacher with surnames starting with your surname criteria.
