Volunteers – Current Vacancies

Much of the work of running our organisation is done by volunteers, many of whom feel that by giving some of their time to Iyengar Yoga (UK) they are helping spread and support the teachings of Guruji, from whom we have all gained so much.

All the members of the IY(UK) Executive Council are volunteers, as are the members of all of the Standing Committees and Working Groups. Volunteering is a great way to have an overview of everything we do as an association, to get involved with things that interest you, and to contribute to all aspects of our decision making and really shape our future. Ethics & Appeals Committee

The Ethics & Appeals Committee currently seeks:

• Two Board-appointed members
• Applicants must be Teacher Members qualified at Level 2 for two years or more
• Time commitment varies depending on the time of year but usually sits at around 2-3 hours per week
• Most work is completed via online meetings and email correspondence

The role of the Ethics and Appeals Committee is to:
– Oversee the maintenance of high ethical standards for members
– Provide a forum for any complaints from within or outside IY(UK)
– Protect the Iyengar name from misuse by members of IY(UK)
– Consider applications for business use of the name Iyengar
