Archives

The Archives Committee works to support the general aim of Iyengar Yoga (UK): to foster and preserve the legacy of Iyengar yoga

What does the Archives Committee do?

As well as recording, storing and managing the organisation’s data, we:

  • Collect, record and catalogue any information about B.K.S. Iyengar, Geeta S. Iyengar and Prashant Iyengar and RIMYI
  • Offer assistance in projects to preserve and conserve archival material relating to Iyengar yoga in the UK and at RIMYI
  • Work to provide a suitable environment to preserve documents and photographs relating to the history of Iyengar yoga

Call for archive material

We are always looking for archive material to add to our established archive.

Do you have any photographs or documents relating to BKS Iyengar and the development of Iyengar yoga?

Or maybe you have letters, class notes, event notices, newsletters etc. that you think may be helpful in documenting the history of Iyengar yoga.

We’d love to hear from you. If required, we can arrange for originals to be copied and returned to their owners.
