Santillan, Malaga, Yoga Holiday with Catherine Coulson

Event Description:

I am very excited to be returning to the most beautiful yoga studio in the world near Malaga!  I will e offing a five night holiday at a dedicated yoga retreat venue just 37km from Malaga airport, with inexpensive and frequent flights!

Here’s what you need to know:

Dates:  28 July – 2 August 2026

Location:  Santillan Retreat, east of Malaga, 5km from the sea,  near the town of Anoreta

Yoga:  9 Iyengar yoga classes:
Tuesday late afternoon (so morning flights recommended)
2 classess daily (morning and evening) Wednesday through Saturday
Sunday breakfast and checkout

Santillan actually has 3 different yoga studios on site, one of which was purposely developed as an Iyengar studio and is fully equipped and includes a state of the art wall ropes system

Activities:  you can choose to be as active or as chilled as you like!  There are 2 established walks directly accessible from the venue, as well as other nearby hiking and nature activities.  There are beautiful beaches just over a 10 minute drive away in Benagalbon and Benajarafe.  The aerial walkway of El Caminito del Rey down a beautiful gorge is an optional excursion (pre-booking essential, price not included)

Malaga:  Of course there is the option to extend your stay at either end and visit the beautiful historic town of Malaga.  In the historic centre you will find the Roman theatre, La Alcazaba, The Cathedral, The Gibralfaro Castle, Malagueta bullring, Muelle Uno and the Botanical Garden La Conceptcion.

Pricing:  £870 shared twin rooms or £1135 single occupancy including arrival transfer

Meals:  3 meals per day included and there is tea/coffee and fresh fruit available all day

Teacher:  Catherine Coulson.  Catherine qualified as an Iyengar yoga teacher in 1998. She brings the Iyengar principles of connection, alignment, extension and balance to her teaching, with a focus on understanding stability and mobility, based on yoga philosophy. She has made 8 visits to Pune to study with the Iyengar family. She is also a lover of cooking and an avid entertainer.
