About Yoga Tree (Chippenham)

We are Lydia Holmes and Edgar Stringer, a married couple living and working in North Wiltshire. We have been practicing Iyengar Yoga since 1991 and teaching since 1997. Both of us are qualified Level 3 Senior teachers, mentors and assessors for IY(UK) and continue to train under the guidance of pupils of BKS Iyengar. 

We named our studio Yogatree in dedication to our teacher BKS Iyengar. Inspired by his book The Tree of Yoga which uses the analogy of a tree to explain the eight limbs Yoga Philosophy of Patanjali.

Yogatree Studio

 We have been teaching Iyengar yoga classes in village halls and art centres for twenty years and it has long been our dream to own our own studio. In 2017 we bought a 1930’s former telephone exchange in Corsham and Edgar has worked tirelessly to renovate the building. Yogatree studio opened in September 2020.

Since the start of the Pandemic we have been teaching online classes for those unable to attend live classes.

Our Classes

We offer yoga classes for beginners, improvers and intermediate levels. We also teach specialist classes including pregnancy yoga, 1-1 private sessions and yoga therapy.
