Will it be possible to store personal Yoga equipment overnight?

Attendees will set up their mat and equipment in the yoga hall on the Saturday morning and the mat and equipment will remain there until the end of the convention on Monday. There will be no access on the Friday. Mats and equipment will be moved to the sides of the yoga hall after the last session on the Saturday ahead of the ceilidh, and will be setup again for yoga sessions on the Sunday morning.

What will be available in terms of refreshments?

There will be several water coolers available, and the foyer bar will be open on the Saturday evening for the ceilidh.

Is there somewhere to fill and store water bottles?

There will be water coolers available. Water bottles should be left outside the hall, preferably on the bar. It is worth labelling your water bottle.

Will there be any teas, coffees or hot water provided?

Nothing is provided within the yoga hall or foyer area. Attendees can use the main hotel café and bars, or local cafes.

Will there be a chill out area?

There won’t be a specific area. However there will be quiet areas in the main hotel that can be used.

What is there to do between registration at 10.00am and the first class at midday?

It will take a while to get everyone through to the hall. Attendees can choose to stay in the hall, browse the marketplace, or use the other areas in the hotel.

What is the parking situation at the Hilton?

Parking at the hotel is £16.50 per day. There is no discount for attendees. Attendees can use a website like JustPark or Parkopedia to find cheaper parking. The cheapest option is to use the Park and Ride facilities on the Glasgow Subway, at Kelvinbridge, Shields Road, or Bridge Street. Please note, the hotel is in Glasgow’s Low Emmission Zone and you will be fined £60 if you drive a non-compliant car to the hotel and it doubles for every subsequent offence.

What are the plans for the Saturday evening?

Note that there is only 90 minutes between the last class on Saturday and the ceilidh. Please plan eating and changing around this. A ceilidh (pronounced “kay-lee”) is a traditional Scottish social gathering focused on energetic group dancing, live folk music, and good company. It is highly inclusive, and you don’t need any prior experience to join in. There will be a live band, Dr Reelgood, playing fast-paced jigs and reels. Wear flat, comfortable shoes with good grip. Dress in layers. Expect to drink plenty of water – the foyer bar will be open during the ceilidh.
