19th March 2015
December 1919 – March 2015
Diana was one of the first 3 students of BKS Iyengar in the UK in the 1950s at his first class in the Asian Music Club in Finchley. She devoted herself to the study and practice of yoga under Guruji and progressed to become one of the first teachers of Iyengar yoga, spreading his teachings for many years. He asked her to travel around the world with him to demonstrate postures.
She is fondly remembered as a much loved and knowledgeable teacher, a wonderful practitioner and one of the great yoga minds of her generation. She was an exceptionally elegant and radiant woman. She embodied yoga.
She was a trailblazer and a highly intelligent lady and will be sadly missed by her husband Adrian and her sons John and Peter, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Diana continued to teach yoga until a few years ago in Southgate, London and met regularly with teachers and students to discuss yoga and philosophy until February of this year. She will be greatly missed by all her students and the whole Iyengar yoga community.
