Fundraiser for Bhopal Medical Appeal

Event Description:

On the night of December 2^nd/3^rd 1984, a Union Carbide plant in Bhopal, India, leaked 27 tonnes of the deadly methyl isocyanate gas. Half a million people were exposed to the gas and 25,000 have died in really hideous ways as a result of their exposure. More than 120,000 people still suffer from ailments caused by the accident and the subsequent pollution at the plant site.

This year we will practise simple asana and pranayama that focuses on the throat (vishuddhi) chakra, so that we are able to call for justice for the people of Bhopal, and in solidarity with the Chingahari clinic which provides speech therapy for affected children https://www.bhopal.org/chingari-child-rehabilitation-fund/

Suggested donation (send to me so I can collate the total) is £15 which funds a month of therapy for a child – but of course more is welcome and less is fine. An online event open to all.
